And the winner is…. Well, not so fast. In the recent past a lot of these pop up camera phones are making an appearance. With phones coming out with more different features, it makes sense that the front camera too would undergo a makeover. And a makeover it has undergone, with the new pop feature. Yes of course there’s always the flip camera to take note of. But; maybe in my later post. But for now we’ll be looking at which pop up camera phone is the best, with emphasis on the pop up feature.

The notch feature too did the rounds. But it hasn’t really stuck on. Pop up is become the new feature of choice for many phone manufacturers. With the pop up feature on board you get uninterrupted screen real estate. This would not really have been possible with a notch.

Best Pop Up Camera Phone OnePlus 7 Pro:

This mobile has gone the extra mile to have a pop up phone camera. The whole intention behind this move was to get uninterrupted screen real estate. Why you say is that so important? It’s because OnePlus has made their mobile’s screen an AMOLED one with curved edges to boot. Not only that the screen has a 90Hz refresh rate which has got an A+ certificate from Display Mate.

On a side note this pop up camera phone comes with a Snapdragon 855 processor and UFS storage. As for RAM that is in the realms of 12GB. As for the rear camera there are three of them present, with one of them having a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor too.

Asus has gone the Samsung Galaxy A80 approach by having a rotating pop up camera. This rotating pop up camera uses a 48MP (f/1.79) + 13MP (wide angle) duo to be both the rear and front facing cameras. With the pop up feature in tow, you get an uninterrupted 6.4 inch Full HD+ display.  This display is an IPS LCD one with a 92% screen to body ratio. Not only have that, to protect it you even had a Gorilla Glass 6 to boot.

As for the processor it runs on Snapdragon 855 with an option of 6GB or 8GB of RAM. As for internal storage you get a choice between 64GB, 128GB and 256GB with a dedicated card slot if you need more. The 5000mAh battery also comes with quick charge 4.0

Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20:

Both these phones have a pop camera set up, leaving more room for a full view AMOLED display. But the icing on the cake happens to be the powerful chipsets these phones come with. While the K20 Pro comes with Snapdragon 855 the other one comes with Snapdragon 730.

Both these pop up camera phones come with 4000mAh batteries with of course fast charging as well.  The primary camera is 48MP and the phones even have an Android Pie based MIUI 10.

Samsung Galaxy A80 is this the best pop up camera phone?

This is the first Samsung phone to have a truly immersive screen space. Not only has that but the A80 introduced a rotary camera housed within a motorized slider. This basically means the camera set up opens up as usual but also flips, which is unusual, to become both a selfie camera  as well as a rear camera. There are three types of cameras- one with a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP wide angle one and a TOF 3D camera with a depth sensor.

The A80 has an AMOLED 6.7 inch display with an in display fingerprint sensor. The pop up camera phone also has a 3700mAh battery to boot.

Oppo Reno 10x Zoom Edition:

This is another variant of the pop up camera. Instead of just a rectangular housing this one pops up as a shark fin.  Other than that anomaly, this pop up camera phone has some really interesting specs to  look at.

The phone comes with a periscope- styled 10x lossless zoom in feature and a snapdragon 855. The Reno phone also has an AMOLED display with an in built fingerprint scanner too.

Pop Up Camera Phone Oppo F11 Pro:

This Oppo features a 32MP pop camera. The other notable features include a MediaTek Helio P70 processor. The RAM comes in anything up to 6GB and with a 4000mAh battery. The phone also comes with a rear facing finger print scanner. The makers have also decided to include a 3.5mm audio jack which is not something you see these days and a micro USB port. And Of course VOOC fast charging is also present.
